Laid out in 1924 by Stafford Vere Hotchkin (of Woodhall Spa fame) within the grounds of Stoke Rochford Estate, Stoke Rochford Golf Club is acknowledged as one of the most attractive and interesting golf courses in Lincolnshire and the East Midlands. Tucked away behind mature trees and an estate wall, the course boasts an array of interesting contours, together with four river holes over the Cringle Brook. With its fast rolling fairways and contoured greens, the course offers a challenge to golfers of all abilities.
The high esteem in which the Club is held is further highlighted by the fact that Stoke Rochford regularly hosts national and county fixtures, as well as welcoming societies and individuals seeking tee reservations.
The course is set in mature parkland, amongst a fine array of mature trees. The terrain is undulating, with great drainage which makes the course playable all through the year, and its fairways are more akin to links-type golf, with fast rolling surfaces in summer, and good tight lies in winter. Played this golf course the week after all of the snow had cleared and have to how good the course was after such terrible weather. Clearly plays well all year.
Definately be back in the summer.
