We felt very welcome when entering the pro shop. We played 18 holes. The condition of the course was excellent. Fairways good, greens great. The greens are not that big so accuracy is key! Nice people in the club house. We enjoyed it very much.

There was a fair bit going on around the golf course including tree surgery on the first, lots of temporary greens and quite a few tee mats. Although that wasn’t great, overall the course was good and got better towards the end. Some lovely views of surrounding countryside, a friendly clubhouse and large well-stocked pro shop were all plus points. A nice venue but probably lots better in the summer months.

Sherborne Golf Club is a decent parkland course offering fair value. It boasts good quality greens, well-maintained bunkers, fairways, and tees. Many holes are tree-lined, creating tight drives and some club selection dilemmas. The three par 3's are the standout holes for me, all long and rewarding if you manage to hit the green (I only found one in regulation!).
There are some nice views across Somerset; I believe you can see Glastonbury Tor to the north and Blackmore Vale southwards.
The practice facilities are good, with a putting green near the 1st tee and a driving range/chipping area not too far from the car park. The clubhouse is fine, and we enjoyed a drink after the game. The pro shop was friendly.

Sherborne Golf Club
The beautiful 18-hole parkland course consists of specimen trees and stunning views over Somerset and the Blackmore vale. The course is just over 6,400 yards from the white tees and is set our over an undulating terrain which will test all facets of your game without being a long hitter. Good course management combined with accurate club selection are the secrets of success at Sherborne. The biggest part of the course was designed by the renowned Open winner course architect James Braid. The bush in the middle of the 5th fairway is known as “Braid’s Bush” and may challenge your second shot at that hole.
