About Amarante Golf Course
Opened in 1997, the Golf Amarante was designed by the Portuguese architect Jorge Santana da Silva, who successfully combined the natural environment while making a challenging design. This golf course is not very long, there are three Par 5's, eight holes are a Par 4 and seven holes are a Par 3. The need for a good judgment of the distances and challenging short game provide a pleasant and constant challenge. Greens are not easy as well.

Amarante Golf ClubeGolf joué pour la première fois sur un conseil du tour opérateur ,mais qui vaut le détour pour ceux qui aiment la nature et les dénivelés. Buggy obligatoire pour les seniors. Cadre magnifique et accueil aux petits soins. Prix très raisonnable avec buggy, club house chaleureux.

Amarante Golf Clube25 jaar geleden, vlak na de opening Amarante al eens gespeeld. Sindsdien is de baan goed onderhouden gebleven, maar de overige faciliteiten minder. De baan zelf is kort (par 68) maar heeft schitterende hoogteverschillen die je clubkeuze tot deelname aan de Staatsloterij doen lijken. Je weet het pas nadat je geslagen hebt. Zeker de moeite waard om te spelen als je in de buurt bent.

Amarante Golf ClubeAmarante, ein Platz in den Bergen etwas nördlich der Douro Tals und östlich von Porto im grünen Norden Portugals.
Nach sehr freundlichem Empfang und guter Einweisung, inkl. Birdiebook ging es zum Tee 1. Nach einem satten Anstieg ist es erklommen und die Muskeln sind warm. Es beginnt mit einem Par 5, dass nahezu komplett blind den Berg hinunter gespielt werden muss. Dann kommt ein kurzes Par 3 mit 88 m aber steil bergauf. Mein PW hat nicht gereicht(?). Anschließend laufen die Bahnen in einen Bergwald und die Bahnen werden enger. Mit tollen Aussichten in die Täler warten hier super schmale Par 3 mit noch kleineren Grüns. Golf ist ein Zielsport; hier wird pures Golf verlangt. Wer 10 Meter links oder rechts verzieht ist bereits verloren.
Das Design ist einmalig, denn die Bahnen laufen komplementär, Bahn 1 liegt neben Bahn 10, Bahn 2 neben Bahn11 usw.
Die Bahnen 5&13 teilen sich sogar ein Fairway! Die Grüns der Front9 haben gelbe Flaggen, die Back9 rote Flaggen, damit sie auch die richtigen (nebeneinander liegenden) Grüns anspielen! Wenn der Platz voll ist, wird es bestimmt spannend?
Nach Rekord-verdächtigen 755 Höhenmetern bin ich auch bei nur 18 Grad durchnässt und die Dusche tut gut!
Jeder normale Golfer nimmt hier ein Cart!
Ok, der Platz ist naturbelassen, die Grüns holprig und die Bunker nicht besonders gepflegt, aber wer Golf als Zielspiel versteht, kommt hier voll auf seine Kosten!
