Le parcours est toujours très agreable à jouer. Les fairways sont dans l ensemble en excellent etat malgré la sécheresse. Je pense que la tonte par les robots y est pour beaucoup. Attention à la vitesse des greens. Vous allez être surpris. Le driving range est en reconstruction. Il faudrait y installer des cibles pour varier les coups et installer une autre aire de chipping.

Beau parcours de bord de mer avec un certain nombre de trous le long de la plage, magique! Entretien correct, seul bémol les constructions autour du parcours sont assez envahissante et cassent la beauté du site.

Praia del Rey… yes, it’s a renowned old course. 1977, host of the European Cup, etc., but just as I’m not particularly impressed by De Pan (NL) after playing The Dutch and Bernardus, or by the Royal Melbourne (AUS) after Cape Kidnappers (NZ), I’m not impressed by this course either after playing West Cliffs yesterday. It was only on the 13th, 14th and 15th that I got that ‘links course’ feeling; the ocean was in view and it was a real treat. There’s honestly nothing wrong with this course, but I don’t find it particularly special either… apart from the greens, that is – they’re incredibly fast and difficult to control, and the weather makes it challenging. Everyone was very friendly, from the reception staff to the people in the clubhouse. It was a shame that we were told the buggy bar was open, when it turned out not to be. It’s good that there are two toilets, at the 5th and 15th holes.

A good course with plenty of variety, and the holes beside the Atlantic are easily the highlight. However, the course was very busy and the pace of play was frustratingly slow, with long waits and no marshal visible. The inland holes are pleasant but less memorable, and the condition of some greens was inconsistent. Enjoyable overall, but slightly overrated compared with other courses in the area.
