About Spanish Point Golf Club
This nine hole links course is located beside Spanish Point beach as it's name implies. The course incorporates five par fours and four par threes. Wind is always part of the game at this course, particularly on the 8th/17th and 9th/18th. More than half of the greens are elevated and the finishing holes offer a stunning view of the sea and strand.

Absolute gem and do not disregard this course just because of 9 holes. True links course, but rough or bunkers are not as punishing as in other links. The course is short, but full of exitement and playing 9 holes twice will keep you entertained. Especially that a few holes never play the same because of wind, elevation, etc. For me the opening hole and 7-9 are the standout holes. Par3 8th is short, but due to elevation and wind channel is always challenging to make the green. Anything less can lead to big trouble. The course is playable even in December, although they cleverly use little mats to preserve fairways and keep the course playable all year round. The clubhouse is recently renovated and one of the best in business. Putting/chipping green tucked in dunnes is well protected from wind to get warmed before the round. Everything is small here, but super tidy and excellent value for money any time.

Tucked along the rugged, windswept coast of County Clare, Spanish Point Golf Club offers a unique blend of coastal beauty and traditional Irish charm. I recently had the pleasure of playing a round here, made all the more enjoyable by the company of two friendly Irish lads whose banter and wit truly elevated the experience.
The course itself is a delightful mix of challenge and charm. Though not long, the exposed nature of the links means you’re constantly battling the elements—particularly the wind coming off the Atlantic. Spanish Point Golf Club may not have the pedigree of some of Ireland’s bigger names, but it more than makes up for it with its character. Rolling fairways, small undulating greens, and natural hazards make every hole different from the last.
A standout feature is the panoramic views of the ocean from several holes, especially the par-3 7th, which forces you to keep your ball low to avoid losing it to a gust of wind off the sea. It’s a course where strategy and shot-making matter more than brute strength, and it’s perfect for those who appreciate the traditional links experience.

This is a gem of a lynx course course. It's an old course, and maintains all of the charm of a vintage course - small greens with tricky approaches.
The holes are shorter than modern courses, but the joy here is in playing each of the tricky holes.
The staff were really friendly and helpful, hired clubs were perfect, and the course was stunning on the day we played.
