Nicely located club on North Bull's island in front of Dublin, surrounded by a few other clubs. Course is directly within natural reserve area, it feels like designed by nature.
Very friendly welcome, got a tee time easily and good rentals - almost fresh and full Titleist and Cleveland bags.
Clubhouse is nice and well designed - with good food for great price, but a bit empty for visitors. Practice are is good, but limited- small putting and chipping area, warm-up in cage(s) possible. Good to adapt to rental clubs, not enough for a training day (if needed).
Course plays very much influenced by wind and weather conditions, true links golf. In my opinion, at least on front nine there is too often straight ways, bunker at 200m close to landing zone and green protected by at least two pot bunkers (left and right). On the other side, this is full character of links - and it's playing fair on this course. Trouble is often on the right side, good for consistent players with a draw.
Course maintenance is good, very nice and firm greens - just on the edge of holding the ball in the wind, the way it should be. Fairways are a bit stressed due to weather and high season, I guess - a lot of roll.

This is a pleasant course to play which has been upgraded over the years. Back playing it after a long absence where we were pleased to see the only tree on the course (spoiling the view down the 18th fairway) has thankfully been removed. A few too many hidden drains and out of bounds arise so be aware as you play. The front nine are difficult to navigate whilst the course opens up for more enjoyable golf on the back nine particularly 13th to 16th.
