Carlow Golf Club

Amazing golf course, massive fairways, with lots of undulations, dog legs, valleys , dips, raised Tee boxes ; lovely rural scenery ….. very beautiful , lovely and lush green all around !

De “Deerpark course” is vooral afwisselend. Afwisselend in alles. Begint een fairway met licht golvende stroken dan kunnen verderop in die golven weer nieuwe golven zijn en daarin weer undulatie zodat het lijkt alsof je in een kuil rijdt met een buggy. Deze afwisseling gaat met alles zo. Soms is een hole simpel soms complex. Kort en lang wisselen elkaar af evenals hoogteverschillen. Soms is een hole compact soms weer weids met verre vergezichten. Die vergezichten zijn regelmatig spectaculair. De greens zijn goed speelbaar maar niet extreem snel zoals een aantal banen die we de afgelopen dagen hebben gespeeld. De bunkers zijn verzorgd.

Door de afwisseling is de baan echt spannend. Wat zal er nu weer komen? De laatste 3 holes zijn een fraai voorbeeld van de afwisseling. Een aanrader om zelf te gaan ervaren. Het enige echte minpuntje is de bewegwijzering. Als je (met een buggy) niet wil verdwalen is een baanboekje aan te bevelen.

Played this on a package organised between Buncloddy Mount Wollsley and Carlow. You will not find better value for GUI Members any where in Ireland when it comes to quality and value. 99e for the 3 course s. Carlow is possibly 1 of the finest inland courses in the country. Damien Magrane ex tour player was very accomadating.

This is an amazing course. Always in great condition. Good track for any golfer.
