Golf Club Leuk

Nice parkland course in a valley between the mountains- no buggy needed. Plenty of challenging holes. Well-maintained fairways. Fast and often undulating greens. Lovely terrace at the 19th hole. The only downside: at a greenfee of €120 per person, a course guide should really be included.

I am glad that I have played this course again as it grew up on me a little bit. However this doesn't change the fact that I still think the word "links" should have nothing to do with a golf course in the middle of Switzerland and right below the Bernese Alps and its 2.928 meters high Schwarzhorn mountain.

The layout itself is good and playing it again sure helps. My favorite holes are the following:

7th and 10th are both good Par-4 holes with nice greens. 13th is a very good technical Par-5 with well protected green which can be reached in two. The 11th and 14th holes are nice Par-3’s. I like the finish with two great Par-4 holes, the 15th and 16th, followed by a very good Par-5 17th. 18th is straight forward and short Par-4 where the people on the clubhouse terrace will be watching if someone is going for the green.

Holes 4 and 6 are quite brutal so make sure you take your go-to club off the tee tee to find the fairway... Good holes.

The course was in very good playing condition with nice fairways and solid greens. The pro-shop selection is very good. Friendly staff and very good food in the restaurant.

Deze baan, in de Rhone vallei, temidden van de Zwitserse Alpen, is de afgelopen jaren geweldig verbeterd. Het onderhoud is goed, de (links)baan uitdagend en het nieuwe clubhuis, met hotel, zeer uitnodigend. Het restaurant is topklasse en ook open voor niet-golfers. Interessant is het 3=2 arrangement: drie keer spelen voor de prijs van twee. Een echte aanrader!

Les nombreux ruisseaux bordant ou traversant les fairways représente la difficulté majeure de ce parcours. Si le vent souffle, ce qui est souvent le cas, la difficulté est encore augmentée. Le nouveau club house (avec un hôtel) est plaisant. L'accueil est agréable.
