Riksten (Huvudstadens Golf)

A Solid Day Out at Golfstar Riksten – Great Vibes, Room to Grow. Spent a day out at Golfstar Riksten recently, and honestly, it was a pretty enjoyable experience. The course has a laid-back charm that doesn’t try too hard, just solid golf in a scenic setting. You’re not getting Augusta National, but for a local course, it definitely delivers. The layout is interesting enough to keep you on your toes, with a nice mix of technical holes and more forgiving ones where you can really open up the driver. Fairways were in decent shape, some dry patches here and there, but nothing that ruined the flow. Greens rolled true and had enough speed to keep things fun. The forest-lined holes offer a great balance between beauty and challenge. Just keep it straight or bring a extra ball. Facilities-wise, the clubhouse is nice and functional. Nothing too flashy, but you’ve got what you need and a small but decent shop if you need to grab a glove or some balls. I can absolutely recommend it.

GolfStar Riksten är en bana som kanske inte imponerar stort, men den levererar ändå en kul runda med polarna. Banan är helt okej – några roliga hål, lagom utmaning och ett upplägg som funkar för de flesta. Inget spektakulärt, men absolut spelvärd. Restaurangen är väl inget att skriva hem om. Du får mat, om du är ute efter en riktig smakupplevelse får du nog leta vidare. Sammanfattningsvis är det en bana som funkar fint för en avslappnad dag på golfbanan.

Riktigt usla greener, även om vintern varit tuff borde man fått ordning på det till augusti.

Banan är en blandning av riktigt roliga hål och ett gäng transportsträckor.

Located south of Stockholm, Riksten is a nice and popular course. Despite being surrounded by forrest, the course can be quite windy, and you can easily find yourself playing into wind that takes quite a few meters off your shots. Water hazards on lines quote a few holes, while most bunkers are close to the greens. Quite a lot of elevation, including on the debated hole 6, a sharp dogleg left where aiming for the flagpole is a good idea and aiming left towards the green is an exciting but often stupid idea. An advantage to have a long game that is in shape if you want to set yourself up for a good score, since the driver is a given on almost all par 4 & 5s, maybe excluding difficult hole 11 where the risk/reward ratio probably favoirs a safer tee-shot.

Quite a large driving range area and putting greens close to the club house. Small club house with nice staff, but no restaurant (you can have hotdogs and sandwiches, but no full meals). Toilets also after hole 5 & 12.

Min favoritbana söder om stan. Vacker, god kvalitet och omväxlande golf. Banan är generellt förlåtande men är tidvis utmanande med mycket vatten i spel.
