Golf Jardín de Aranjuez offers an 18-hole round of golf with a par of 72, plus a practice course, putting green and approach green. The course features a wide variety of different kinds of hole, and combines the need for skill on each shot with the accuracy required due to the large greens, the lakes and the bunkers. The par-3’s are long, the par-5’s short and the par-4’s extremely varied, with alternating doglegs to the left and right and large lakes. The round is 6,104 metres long from the white tees, 5,661 metres from the yellow tees, and 4,466 metres from the red tees. It is an ideal course for medium and high handicaps, while the more demanding low handicaps can compensate for the distances with additional difficulties such as the starting tees and trickier flag positions. In general the terrain in the area is gentle, and although it has been modified to give the course some slopes, it is an easy, comfortable course to play on. Both the irrigation system and the construction of the course were designed to reduce the amount of water required, and the round was designed to take around four hours to play. This has been achieved with unobstructed fairways, large greens and highly visible hazards. The golf course is situated just four kilometres from Aranjuez, a historical city rich in monuments, and is easily accessible via the A4 and R4 motorways. The facilities of the course are complemented by the sports facilities of the Hotel Barcelo, with its gymnasium, spa, paddle tennis and summer swimming pool, and by the “Gran Casino de Aranjuez”.
