About Ribagolfe Lakes & Oaks
Ribagolfe has two great golf courses and it lies within a native cork oak forest, just 40 minutes away from Lisbon. Ribagolfe I was designed by Peter Townsend (a former European Tour player). The course winds through sloping terrain and magnificent oak trees. The large number of tee boxes make this course a challenge for any player. The design of Ribagolfe II was assigned to a former “Ryder cup” player, Michael King, with European Golf Design expertise and that course was intended more for its members. So the yardage and the width of the fairways are much more reasonable than Ribagolfe I. It is laid out in a natural cork oak tree environment. Ribagolfe has a restaurant/bar which is skilled to serve delicious regional mediterranean dishes! It also has a well-stocked Pro-Shop.

Ribagolfe Lakes (Ribagolfe I)Riba 1 (Lakes) played. Very many old driving range balls, but nice hitting off the grass. The fairways were very dry. While the bunkers were very wet. The greens were excellent.

Ribagolfe Oaks (Ribagolfe II)parcours perdu au milieu de nul part en pleine nature, apparemment le programme immobilier ne s'est pas fait car il y a une longue route pour arriver au golf. Tu te demandes si il y a quelque chose au bout de cette route et tu arrives sur un petit clubhouse, plutôt un bureau. Nous avions réservé le parcours lakes, mais comme il était en maintenance, on nous a mis sur le oaks en nous offrant le buggy ; très sympathique de la part de la demoiselle de l'accueil. J'ai beaucoup aimé ce parcours très varié, intéressant à jouer, bien entretenu. Des dénivelés, de l'eau en jeu... une super partie de golf.
Ribagolfe Oaks (Ribagolfe II)Erg vriendelijke ontvangst, maar ribagolfe II oaks heeft echt een nieuw elan nodig! Fairways en tboxen in beduidend slechte onderhoudsstaat. Mss is dit eco-onderhoud, maar ik had er meer van verwacht. Greens nog wel OK. Terras clubhuis in schaduw, niet echt aangenaam met matig zonnetje.

Ribagolfe Oaks (Ribagolfe II)
18 holesRibagolfe Oaks (formerly known as Ribagolf II) is a shorter test than its sibling Ribagolfe Lakes, but it still measures more than 6,800 yards. Ribagolfe Oaks is designed by former Ryder Cup player Michael King in collaboration with European Tour Design. Blessed with the same indigenous cork oak canvas, King has crafted a more forgiving but equally appealing golf course with wider fairways and landing areas. The huge, moderately contoured greens, however, provide a stiff test if you’re to score well here. Both Ribagolfe courses are set within a forest of cork oak trees.

The course is challenging and the narrow landing areas play with the mind for long and straight hitters. Designers Peter Townsend and European Golf Design were blessed with a beautiful piece of virgin cork oak forest and have created a layout which would grace any European Tour event, with superb oversized greens and a length of 7,370 yards from the back tees.
