Vale de Milho Golf

I played Vale de Milho, a par 3 course in Carvoeiro, and while it has some charm, the overall experience was underwhelming. Considering the relatively low price point, it can be fun if you’re just starting out or looking for a casual short round. The course sits right in the middle of a neighborhood, so don’t expect any views. Conditions were poor the greens were incredibly slow, and there are no practice facilities. On the positive side, the staff were friendly and welcoming, and the clubhouse and bar look good. Overall, a course that works for beginners or a quick hit-around, but not one for golfers looking for quality play.

Midden in een woonwijk met villas en appartementen ligt deze bijzonder mooie 2x9 Par 3 golfbaan. Een prima baan om het korte spel te oefenen, maar verwacht ook niet meer. De woods, hybrid en driver kan je thuis laten.

Het is vooral een baan voor de pensionados van de omliggende appartementen, voor vriendengroepen of families. Het tempo op de baan ligt daarom laag, maar dat is prima, want zonder te wachten heb je in 1,5 uur 18 holes voltooid. De greens en bunkers zijn matig, maar de creatieve, uitdagende holes maken veel goed.

Oefenfaciliteiten zijn er eigenlijk niet (een soort van kooi met een net waar mn ballen doorheen vlogen :). Het clubhuis voelt gedateerd aan. Het huursetje is verouderd, maar mag je ook niet meer van verwachten voor 10,-.

De prijs / kwaliteit maakt veel goed, want voor slechts 30,- loop je hier waarschijnlijk de mooiste Par 3 die je hebt gelopen. Kortom; een prima rondje voor de afwisseling met de 'echte' golfbanen in de Algarve!

De retour après un premier essai en décembre. Et mon impression j’y retournerai. Il ne faut pas se tromper c’est un parcours pour des débutants oui c’est vrai mais avec des difficultés. Le rapport qualité / prix c’est vraiment a ne pas oublier quand on écrit un avis. Sans prétention aucune mais un parcours plaisir pour un jeu court.

Since my wife and I are beginners, I would like to help other beginners to find where to play. This course is definitively a good one except perhaps if you are looking for luxury :-) The reception is very good, but I don't know if they speak other language than English. Other than that, the course is not very long. You will complete it in 1-2hours max. It's well adapted to beginners: not too intimidating but not basic at all. Hole 1 is just easy enough to put you in confidence. Hole 2 has a narrow (5m?) creek to cross but easy. Hole 3 has the same creek to cross again but you can go around it at the expense of at least 1 shot. The uphill slope is the difficulty there. Hole 4 has a downhill slope but it's easy. The biggest difficulty is potentially to find the start because you have to leave the resort and walk in the street 50m to find it :-) I'll let you discover the other holes by your self. After the turn, go to the clubhouse. The terrace has a view on holes 1,2,3 and 9. They prepare a very good red sangria. The food is good and prices are attractive. Staff is friendly.

We played there twice in December and twice in March. Next time, our goal will be to reach the green in one shot :-) With a green fee of 20€ for 9 holes, this is really a bargain.

Voor de tweede keer gespeeld op deze PAR 3 baan. Ontvangst is erg vriendelijk. Oefenfaciliteiten stellen niet veel voor. De baan maakt echter veel goed. Leuke holes en hoogteverschillen. De doorsteek naar hole 4 had ik al in andere reviews gelezen dus deze was zo gevonden.

Fijne baan om een dagdeel door te brengen. Prijs - kwaliteit is erg goed.
