Vuosaari Golf Helsinki

Great design for this links which requires a good strategy. The greens are incredibly good. Very fun to play, I will try to come back ASAP to discover further how to play it.

A very nice links course not far from Helsinki center, even possible to reach with underground + a walk.

We played it when roughs were not too high and dence, so easy to find balls outside fairways. In addition there wasn’t too much wind, and hence a fun and enjoyable round. The course is actually quite narrow if the rough is high and dense, and quite often a bit windy ccording to the two members we played with.

Nice club house and staff, never got to use lockers nor restaurant.

Driving range a short walk away.

Vuosaari Golf is a links-type course, and there are not many such in Finland. The course is characterized by hard and rolling fairways and slippery greens and their forecourts. The soil on the course is very sandy and therefore it dries quickly after rain. The season at Vuosaari is normally long and the greens are of uniform quality from early spring to late autumn. On fairway 5 you will find a copy of the Old Course's hell bunker. The effect of the sea breeze is often felt on the open course, and especially in strong winds, low, long rolling shots are suitable.

Fantastiskt med en bra linksbana så nära Helsingfors. Nackdelen är de långa transportsträckorna mellan flera hål. Lite otäckt för en besökare med alla bollar som kommer från andra hål när det blåser. Väldigt knepig när vinden ligger på och ibland svårt att hitta bollen.

Really Well kept links course, greens in perfect condition, same with fairways.
