Tapiola Golf

Urban links with environmental twist might be the title for Tapiola golf. The course built on landfill in 2013 (initial design Jan Sederholm developed by Tim Nugent). The feeling is relaxing due to short transitions between the holes and no water. 20000 golfers within 15 mins so the course is nicely busy. Huge shop worth mentioning.

Great experience. Great course which will have triggered given the zillion of bunkers to avoid and speedy greens...

First time for me at the beautiful Tapiola Golf!

Set up as an inland links, the course is compact and not super long, but the undulating fairways and greens make it a really good challenge.

There are longer holes, especially the par 4,15th hole is super challenging at almost 400m with a snaking water hazard protecting the green.

The facilities are excellent and because of the compact space and well planned routing, everything is very close. The driving range is long and has two tiers, a nice feature being music speakers that put out some good tunes.

The clubhouse is modern and spacious, with a delicious lunch available.

The surroundings on site are beautiful, but around the property is nothing special, but that takes nothing away from the experience.

All in all, if you are visiting Helsinki and keen for a round, make the short 15 minute trip to Tapiola ⛳️?

Tapiola Golf is a well designed golf course built on a piece of land that used to be a municipal landfill. There wasn't too much space to build the course, but the architect has done well in creating a course that offers a lot of strategic golf holes with interesting green sites.

The playing surfaces are "linksy", that is firm and often fast, too. The course is by no means long - something like 6100m from the back tees - and the firmness makes it feel even shorter. The challenge lies at the green sites and finding the correct lines to the approach shots. There are a lot of bunkers as well, which one wants to avoid.

The course is pleasant to play, not a lot of golf balls will be lost during a round. The course also plays fast, mostly well under 4 hours. Playing nine holes is an option, too, as both 9 & 18 return to the clubhouse area.

I strongly recommend the course!
