Aulanko Golf

I had booked a round at Aulanko Eversti, because it is ranked 12th in Finland, and I was nearby in Hämeenlinna to play Linna.

Driving range is fine with the possibility to hit from grass, and a nice putting green.

I found the layout of this course very enjoyable, lots of variety in the holes, no 2 holes look the same. Both 9 hole loops on both sides of the clubhouse are good. The maintenance of the course is also decent, they don't seem to have the frost damage that I saw on some other courses.

After the round we had a few drinks in the clubhouse, but we didn't eat here.

Overall a good option in this region of Finland to combine with a visit to Linna. We stayed at Scandic Hämeenlinna, which is a very short drive to both those clubs.

Uitdagend, kies de juiste tee om te spelen

Niet volledig egaal maar wel mooi afgelijnd

Veel uitgeslagen plaggen maar plaats genoeg om uw bal te plaatsen

Terrein

Diffuse lijn tussen fairway en lage rough

Fairway vertoond symptomen van Koning Winter, niet overal even volgroeid

Rough niet altijd te hoog, bal gemakkelijk terug te vinden

Soms zones met kale plekken (oorzaak Koning Winter)

Bunkers in speelbare staat, strategisch gelegen en het zand erin is wel perfect

Green :

Enorm grote greens

Niet altijd mooie lijn green apron, grotesk, niet egaal, zeer snel

Buggy :

Aanwezig zonder GPS

Restaurant :

Bier of wijn nog duur

Een terugkomer waardig?

Zeker en vast

Dat Koning Winter het heeft uitgehangen kan niemand kwalijk nemen zo zit de natuur eenmaal in elkaar, we kunnen enkel hopen dat de greenkeepers hun werk uitvoeren

We hebben gespeeld met regel dat plaatsen mag op de fairway omdat deze er niet altijd goed bij lag

In optimale vorm kan dit terrein zich benoemen tot de een van de beste van het land.

Old historical golf course but way too little space for a golf course. Joggers, cyclists and tourists walking in pedestrian paths around the course. Dangerous is the general feeling here.
