Punta Espada Golf

I recently had the pleasure of playing Punta Espada in Cap Cana, and it truly lives up to its reputation as one of the best courses in the Caribbean and Mexico. From the moment you arrive and see already the driving range, you realize this is more than just a round of golf; it’s a breathtaking experience - entering the clubhouse and see already hole 18 far behind. AMAZING! The Course & Views: The layout by Jack Nicklaus is genius. What sets Punta Espada apart are the eight holes that play directly along or over the turquoise Caribbean Sea. The views are simply breathtaking—specifically hole 13, a par-3 that requires a nervy shot over the crashing waves. The contrast between the emerald-green fairways, the white sand, and the deep blue ocean is a photographer’s dream. Condition & Playability: The course was in immaculate condition. The fairways were lush, and the greens were fast and true. A huge shoutout to the caddie service—my caddie was knowledgeable, read the lines perfectly, and made the round much more enjoyable by providing crucial tips on the wind and club selection. Clubhouse & Dining: After the round, the fantastic clubhouse is the place to be. It’s spacious and luxurious, offering a great pro shop. I had dinner at the restaurant, and the food was exceptional. Sitting on the terrace with a cold drink, looking back over the 18th hole and the ocean, is the perfect way to end the day. Tournament History: It has hosted the PGA Tour Champions' Cap Cana Championship multiple times. Verdict: It is a "bucket list" course. It’s not cheap, but for the quality of the design, the stunning ocean holes, and the top-tier service, every penny is well spent. A must-play for any serious golfer visiting the Dominican Republic!

Ho giocato una volta in agosto 2025. Percorso tecnico ma non troppo difficile, molto scenografico sopratutto nelle buche sull’oceano, davvero belle!! Campo splendido e tenuto in ottime condizioni, come quelli di Casa de Campo, Corales e Cap Cana. Ottima struttura, nuova. Bella club house, con buon ristorante. Il Green fee è molto costoso (295 $ dalle 2 pm), ed è obbligatorio il caddy (75 $ con la mancia). Costi quindi molto superiori a campi di pari livello in Europa. Bel campo per chi vuole giocare sull’oceano a Santo Domingo, e sapendo però che deve spendere una fortuna!

Heerlijke golfbaan met voldoende afwisseling en prachtige ligging langs de kust. Bijna overal zie je de oceaan. Onderhoud prima. Greens snel (best lastig de lijn te lezen, veel 3 putts). Met caddy spelen helpt zeker. Wij hadden bekwame caddy. Bovendien gezellig. Prijs voor deze baan is zeer stevig. Eigenlijk veel geld voor een rondje golf.

For me it is the most beautiful golf course in the world probably will not have the best design in the world although it is a great golf course and the design is very good but as beautiful there is no other, of all the times I've played it and there are many this has been the one I've found better maintenance.

It is still impressive all the part that is played around the sea and especially the final 16,17 and 18 is incredible that for me is the main difference with teeth of the dog that lacks to finish in a hole like the 18 of punta espada.

Undoubtedly it is an impressive course.
