Bluffs is a beautiful course & I understand why it rates so highly in Vietnamese

course rankings.

Winding its way through tall sandy dunes & waste areas, with views overlooking the sea on the majority of holes. The par 3’s, especially on the front nine, are utterly fabulous but I could say that about most of the par 4’s and 5’s too. The two nines are quite different but very enjoyable in their own right and it’s hard to say that we had a preference for one over the other. Both nines finish with very strong uphill par 4’s requiring a long shot into raised greens.

Visually there are similarities to a number of courses we’ve really enjoyed elsewhere - the opening holes at Spyglass Hill (the highest praise indeed), the back nine at Praia D’el Rai in Portugal, Sandy Hills at Rosapenna, Ireland, whilst it’s also a little Barnbougle’ish in places.

That said Bluffs is a busy resort course and has been made very playable by being generous off the tee. We had two windy days, which apparently is usual & welcome. Not only making the heat less oppressive but also adding interest to club selection. There are opportunities to score well but the excellent greens are tricky, although you’ve no excuse as the caddies read them well (if you choose to let them - as Mrs did!). They are also cheeky & good fun.

I’ve never been anything but impressed playing a Greg Norman designed course & that’s true again at Bluffs.

Delighted we got out of Ho Chi Minh City to play here for 3 days & had 3 rounds. Highly recommended and really hope to visit again one day.

Wonderful course amongst towering sanddunes. Great views towards the sea. Maintenance topclass and very friendly staff. Wish I could play here over and over...
