One of the best clubs in Malaysia with two challenging courses which are well designed and well kept. The top 2 clubs in Selangor/KL are members-only, while most other clubs at similar level accepted only 3-balls reservations. Thus, it would be safe to say Saujana is the best place course you can play in KL as a lone golfer. The Club is located close to downtown. It took 30 mins for me to reach on a Sunday early afternoon. Tee-time reservation by phone, process at golf reception and caddy master all worked smoothly. Taking caddy is mandatory; he spoke little English but he was good mannered and we understood each other in golf English. I paid 170 euros for 18 holes incl. buggy and caddy. Only downside about the club is the weather in the area. You don’t get much breeze here and it is usually very humid. At Bunga Raya front-9, there are many challenging and entertaining holes. A number of holes begin with downslope driver and upslope fairway. I don’t have 200 meters carry in my drive, thus my drives usually landed on upslope ground and did not run. Back-9 is more straight forward and has 3 Par-3’s. Greens, fairways and tee-boxes were all in quite fair conditions. I did NOT go to locker rooms or the restaurant. Golf Shop had decent size and variety.

Saujana Golf Club is one of the best private clubs in Kuala Lumpur. The Palm Course is extremely challenging and it has been maintained well. Every hole is memorable. The atmosphere of the club house is tropical and it offers good menu.

Als gast van het Saujana Hotel gespeeld op de Bunga Raya course (De Krokodil). Tamelijk open course met flink wat verborgen fairwaybunkers en veel plateau greens. Flink lange baan voor een niet longhitter. Greens mooi aan te spelen en tamelijk receptive vanop afstand. Fairways waren bezand (eerder bekiezeld), maar dat kwam vaak de ligging ten goede (de baan is best nat). Vergeleken met de Palm course is de krokodil een stuk uitdagender, hoewel de Palm de championship course is voor het Maleisisch Open. (uit/afgesteld).

Op zondagmiddag (geen lokale hond die er dan over denkt eens lekker te gaan golfen) is het onthaal een beetje whwaa...
